What is the ATI TEAS exam?

TEAS is issued by ATI and is used for admission to nursing programs, but it does not itself award a nursing license or credential. The exam measures academic readiness for coursework required in patient-care programs.

Applicants entering practical nurse, registered nurse, and allied health programs take it before training for work in hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. In the United States, admissions offices use ATI results when reviewing applicants, while state boards issue professional licenses through separate processes. The score is submitted to schools as part of an admissions application, not as workplace authorization.

This course is organized into 4 chapters, grouped by topic.
